Hello visitor,
We welcome you to th official website of the Don Bosco School Bandel Scout Troop. The Don Bosco Scout
Troop, Bandel, which started teaching in 1982 under the able guidance of Father T.S. Gomes has come a long way and formed
a huge family of individuals who cater the needs of the people around them. Since its existence the troop has matured and
flourished and has produced great Scouts like Mr. Shantanu Mukherjee and Mr. Rajib Sheikh Mohammed who were honored by the
President of India with the President Badge and had also represented the country in the World Jamboree held at Japan and South
Korea in 1988 and 1991 respectively.
The troop has given ample opportunities
to the boys to co-operate, collaborate and explore their skills and talents, and to show to the public "how smart, well-behaved
and helpful we can be". We have undoubtedly learned to live and work together and we all believe that "What we can do together
is more than what we can do alone". To be alert and sensitive to the needs of our neighbors and rendering help is the duty
of each and every scout. We too have adhered to this duty of ours and have always been true to our motto "Be Prepared".
We have made use of all opportunities that have come by to learn something new everyday so that we "Be Prepared" to help others
in distress. This willingness to learn all through our life forms part of our resourcefulness. The scouts of Don Bosco School,
Bandel have shown the highest ideals of character, conduct, patriotism and service so that they become purposeful, resourceful
and active citizens of the country. We abide by the words of Annie Besant "The Scouts are good citizens of the country ready
to work for it, ready to live for it and ready to die for it". We have always made a constant effort to impregnate the good
things imbibed within us into the society.
We coordinate numerous events in the
school and so on. We keep in mind that this is a time of spreading love, a time of spreading knowledge and a time of generous
sharing. Grabbing eagerly to all opportunities of growth, we hope to march ahead looking
at a better tomorrow. We conclude with the words of Lord Baden Powell who in his last message to the Scouts had said, "Try
and leave this world a little better than you found it." "Do all the good you can, In all the way you can, In all the places
you can, At all the times you can, To all the people you can, As long as ever you can."
"Be just and fear not: let
all the ends thou aimest be at thy country's, the God's and truths."
At present
there are 44 members in the troop.
